Last week we were privileged to be asked to escort Jim Horton, The Falkland Islands Commonwealth Games cycling entrant, around the Commonwealth Games Time Trial Course on a reconnaissance ride in preparation for the race on 4th August.

All of the best for the Time trial and the Road Race Jim.

Welcome to the home page of Wolverhampton Racing Cycling Club.

The club is affiliated to British Cycling and members represent the club in various road races and time trials. There are also entries into sportives, audaxes, reliability rides and the annual club hill climb event in September.

All abilities, ages and formats of cycling are catered for and all are welcome at our weekly club nights. These are held at Bradmore Community Centre in Birches Barn Road every week on Monday evenings from 8pm. This is a social evening where like minded souls meet to discuss cycling and plan events. If you fancy bringing your turbo trainer down and joining some of the members in a turbo session you are more than welcome. Perfect for those cold, wet, winter Monday evenings!

There are weekly club runs on Tuesday and Thursday mornings beginning at 10am on Tuesday and 11am on Thursday from The Pigot Arms n Pattingham. This is a steady paced ride for about 3 hours.

Saturday mornings see a club run setting off at 8.15am from the traffic lights in Codsall. This usually consists of a 33 mile loop with a stop at the cafe in Brewood at the end. Many club members choose to extend this either before or after the loop. The pace is steady in the winter but picks up in the summer months when often two groups are formed- one at a faster pace and at a more relaxed pace. Why not come and join us?

If you fancy joining a friendly club, riding with like minded souls and maybe setting yourself new challenges then you've come to the right place.
